Overview

Big Al's Win-O-Matic is a simple tool for picking a random winner from a list of names. We designed it to respect your privacy. This policy explains what information the app handles and how.

Information We Collect

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for personal information. The names you enter to spin the wheel are processed entirely within your own browser to run the drawing. We do not send your list of names to a server or store it on our systems.

We do, however, use Google Analytics to understand how the app is used (see the "Cookies & Analytics" section below). This collects standard usage information such as pages viewed, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address. It does not include the names you enter into the wheel.

Share Links

If you use the "Copy Share Link" feature, the names you entered are encoded directly into the resulting URL so the list can be reopened later. Anyone you share that link with will be able to see those names. Only share links with people you trust, and avoid including sensitive personal information in your name lists.

Cookies & Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, to measure how visitors interact with the app. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects aggregated usage data — such as pageviews, session activity, device and browser type, and an approximate location based on your IP address — which is sent to and stored by Google. We use this information only to understand overall usage and improve the app; we do not use it to personally identify you, and the names you enter to run the drawing are never sent to Google.

You can learn how Google uses this data at Google's privacy & terms page. If you prefer to opt out of Google Analytics across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies through their settings.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
